Cropped Flares

Art on Fire was over the weekend and it was a blast! This event gets more interesting each year for me as I learn a little more about the city of Memphis, the people and the restaurants. I love seeing so many familiar faces out supporting a great cause. I was able to get quite a few of my friends to attend this year who had never been and they all were surprised by what a great event Art on Fire is.
Chokers are in style once again. I loved wearing chokers when I was younger and they are back! Of course the chokers today are much more fashionable now than they were in the 90’s.
Did you notice the subtle detailing in these booties?

The Breakdown:
It can be frustrating trying to find something to wear to an event that has a dress code. Once you find the perfect outfit that fits the theme it feels so good! In this case, the dress code for Art on Fire was “bonfire chic”. Dressing in the direction of casual with layers and some chicness was the route I was going.
This was the first event I was attending since the season had changed to fall so I was ready to wear something trendy. Bomber jackets were all over the runway and are really in at the moment but I feel they have already been around for a couple years. I wanted a bigger trend and chose these cropped flares to satisfy my need for fashion. I had been on the hunt for cropped flares for a while now and was having a hard time finding the right length. You want the hem to hit a couple inches above your ankle, my legs are on the shorter side and all the other cropped jeans I tried on were too long which was not a cute look.
Keeping in mind I’d be walking in grass I was going to go with a cute sneaker, bootie or flat boot for my shoe choice. This low cut black bootie looked best with with my flared crop jeans.
Everything I am wearing, except for my bag, is from Indigo. I did not plan on buying a whole new outfit for Art on Fire but it just happened. I first bought my jacket and jeans from Indigo last week. I planned on pairing them with an existing sweater and shoe but then Indigo had there Moonlight Madness sale so I had to go back and look around. Sure enough, I found one too many great deals and before I knew it my Art on Fire outfit was complete and all from one store!
I’m already looking forward to next years event!
