My Style

Built-In Shirt Dress For Easy Layering

In one store I went through a major built in layering phase. I had loads of clothes to try on in the dressing room and a handful of them had built in shirts. At the time I didn’t own anything of this style but was really into it. I ended up buying this nude sweater and I am very happy with my purchase. I’m just about to pack my sweaters up for the season but I will be leaving this one out for another month.

I’ve been laughing while I write this because my nephews thought I was naked in these pictures. They saw these images from a distance and the sweater does match my skin so I can see why they thought that. It made me laugh so hard though.

The Breakdown:
I bought this sweater when I was in New York City, I should have known I wouldn’t have too much longer to wear it but I love the style and I know it will be right on trend next season. If you ever question how to layer an outfit, look for a piece of clothing that has a built in layer, it takes all the guessing out of it. I love the idea of a button down shirt under a sweater but I personally don’t like the feeling of all the layers. This sweater has only the bottom of a dress shirt sewn to it, such a good idea.  Mixing high and low clothing brands is always fun for me. I love showing off styles that you can pull off no matter what your price point is. These jeans I’m wearing are under $30! You can’t tell in these pictures but they have a higher waist than most of my jeans which will be perfect for tucking in tanks this spring and the raw hem is super trendy right now.
I know you aren’t going to believe me when I tell you these mules are comfortable but they really are. The strap around my toe is thick enough that they don’t dig into any part of my foot (you can see me wearing this style shoe here, here, here and here). Now that I think about it, mules in general are quite comfortable. I love all the ones I currently own. I tagged some really cute black and white flats that would be super cute with this outfit for a more casual look.
