Hawaii Style Recap

I brought my camera on my travels with intentions of shooting multiple outfits for my blog. Turns out I didn’t even shoot one! I did get some Instagram shots that some of you were asking me about so I”ve got the details below.
I left Ohio and headed to Arkansas to drop my son off with my in laws. I spent one night there to help get him acclimated, then I was off to California to meet my husband so we could fly first thing the following morning to Hawaii for our friends weddings. We had a few days in Hawaii that were truly amazing and very relaxing. We took the red eye back to LA Monday night and stayed there for a night then I was finally off to pick up my baby in Arkansas Tuesday morning! Boy, oh boy. This was by far the longest I had ever left Myles.
Trying on bathing suits can be a bad experience but once you get your summer tan on it’s not so bad. I usually only order swimwear online if I already know the brand and how it fits my body. I ordered this Cupshe suit online which I love along with this Jade Palm bikini which I had to return. The suit I am wearing is on sale for under $10! Click the link below to buy it. I ordered a medium but I would have preferred a small. Anyways, I spent a lot of time on these rocks because there was a sea turtle that always was around and I loved watching it!

Wedding day! My husband was in one of his very good childhood friends weddings which was the reason for this little vacation. I was in the mood to wear an older dress that I hadn’t worn in a while. I ofter where a dress once, take pictures and never wear it again. So this dress is from 2011 and I am glad I have saved it all these years. It is definitely no longer available but I did find some cute similar dressed that I liked. I actually remember when I bought this dress I was on vacation (maybe even Spring Break which would have been 2010…?) with my parents and I went to the Intermix in Bal Harbor. Can’t see my shoes but they are from Target. Target has been killing it with their shoes lately. You may have read my post on what to wear to an outdoor wedding and I made sure to suggest a stacked heel. Turns out I didn’t own a black stacked heel so I had to listen to my own advice and hop in to Target.

I love mixing prints, especially in the summer. If you aren’t familiar with mixing prints, swimwear is the best way to start. Swimwear is about having fun and being bright and bold. I have had this top for a few years. It is Mikoh which was one of my favorite swim lines. I have a few tops in this style but I’m afraid I’ll no longer be able to wear it since I became a mother. If you are a mom, particularly one that nursed, you know exactly what I mean. I wasn’t able to find this top but if you like the print I did find a cover up at Nordstrom Rack in this print from this brand for a great price!
Myles was in a great mood when I was at the mall last so I stopped in to Anthropologie to check out their sale stuff and found these bathing suit bottoms! I’ve been following Solid & Striped this summer and have been very curious about how their suits fit. So when I saw this one for $9.99 I bought it without even trying it on (but really, who has time to try on clothes when they shop with their kids?) As I was writing this blog I saw Anthropolgie had the matching top to these striped bikini bottoms but it sold out while I was checking out! Super frustrating.

My last night in Maui. We headed to dinner at a sushi place that a friend recommended but we arrived during happy hour and the place was packed. It turned out for the better because they didn’t have outdoor seating and it makes me sick to sit inside a cold dark restaurant during a beautiful night. The hostess recommend Paia Fish Market. Best recommendation. This restaurant was super causal, you go inside and order your food, seat yourself, then they bring your food to you when it’s ready. I had the best fish tacos and next time I’m in Maui I am going back to Paia Fish Market.
