A HyrdoFacial With Bluff City Lights + A Giveaway

hydrafacial memphis
Since turning 3o this past year I have started taking much better care of my skin. It’s tough seeing my fine lines grow as I get older. I am ok with aging but I’d like to do it gracefully and at a slow pace! I am much more consistent with my skincare routine and I’ve also started to treat myself to a facial every 6 weeks or so compared to the once or twice a year in the past. My Bluff City Lights friends introduced me to a HydroFacial at A Beautiful You Medical Spa and I am now obsessed.

A HyrdroFacial is done in three steps — cleanse, hydrate and infuse. In this first step, we uncover a new layer of skin by gently exfoliating and resurfacing. This will leave your pores exposed for extraction & hydration. In this second step, a painless suction method is used to remove oil and debris from your pores, then a moisturizer is applied to hydrate your skin to its optimal level. The last step is to infuse the skin with antioxidants and peptides. The peptides are used to build up the production of collagen, promoting more youthful, glowing skin. The antioxidants are to protect your skin from free radicals that can damage your skin cells, helping reduce the signs of aging.

In addition to the HydraFacial blue or red LED light therapy can be done. The blue light is used on acne spots and helps the appearance of oily and congested skin by killing bacteria. Red light therapy  helps stimulate the production of collagen and calm the skin. hydrafacial memphisI had heard so many things about hyrdrofacials but I never knew how it was different from other facials. HydroFacial actually combines elements of microdermabrasion and chemical peels but is less invasive. The tool used during a hyrdofacial is not an abrasive device, it uses a spiral suction tip that dislodges impurities. The treatment is absolutely painless and there is no downtime. There may be a little redness immediately following but will fade away within a couple hours.

HyrdoFacials are great for any skin type and is great for treating, fine lines, brown spots, enlarged poors, oily skin and elasticity. I took a few before pictures of my forehead, my eyes and a few other areas of my face that have spots on them. I cannot wait to see the difference after a few hydrofacials.

Bluff City Lights is partnering with A Beautiful You Med Spa to give one lucky reader a free HydraFacial! Giveaway is from 1/30 – 2/1 and the winner will be announces on 2/4/19.

Instagram Live Gift Guide

memphis bloggers
Last week my Bluff City Lights girls got together for a little Instagram live to show you guys a couple of our go to gifts. We did our best to answer most of your questions but I thought it would be best for me to leave it all here for you on the blog.

Air Plants//
These are hard to kill and easy to care of. Can easily be added to any shelf, table or mantle. I talked about them in my gift guide here. A couple local stores sell them which is where I have purchased these below from but I recently order some online for my sisters Christmas gift and they are beautiful. air plants

O-Venture Key Ring//
This is a very practical gift. I love cute keychains but they typically make my keys heavier than they already are and still get lock in the bottom of my diaper bag. This O-Venture key ring is light weight and easy to find in your bag, you can also easily slip it on your wrist! There are a ton of different styles too, I don’t think I can pick a favorite but this one is pretty cool!

Lipsmart Treatment//
My lips always need something on them, I have some type of lip balm scattered throught the house, my car and bags. I tried this balm out for the first time this evening and I loved it. It is similar to Vaselline but smoother, there is no scent either which I prefer.

Leslie Ponder Studios//
I first learned of this jewelry designer at Memphis Fashion Week. I love how contemporary her line is. Everything is handmade and has a pretty touch of gold! For the holidays she is making these darling little nativity scenes that come in three different colors.
** You can now get 20% off your order by entering code mary20 at checkout!

Bling Sting & Alert Keychain//
We are definitely in a world where we need to be cautious. I have never owned pepper spray but I know I need to and now that I see how cute this one is I had to purchase for myself! Such a great stocking stuffer! This gemstone alarm keychain is also perfect for any female!

3-step Mask & Makeup Eraser//
Face masks were one of my 5 easy gifts. There are so many different masks to choose from and no persons can have too many! I really want to try this 3-step mask. This makeup eraser I had never heard of but Alex loves it! You just need water and the towel and it gets all your makeup off and you can toss it in the wash after a few uses! Isn’t this tropical print cute?

Hi Y’All Cups & Napkins//
These are really fun to have for a little holiday party. If you aren’t the best cook offer to bring the paper goods!

The Magic Light Wand//
This is a fun little gadget. It is used to light your holiday lights in your home but could actually be programmed to light anything! The Magic Light Wand really does seem magical because of the sound it makes, Myles would love to have this!

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday!

5 Stress Free Tips For Hosting Your First Friendsgiving

stress free friendsgiving Last week I hosted my first Friendsgiving which also happened to be my first Friendsgiving to even attend! I love that Thanksgiving brings my family together but it’s also a great time to cherish your friends. My husband was out of town and my boys went to our babysitters house and I was able to enjoy a complete evening with some girls.

As a host I put pressure on myself to make the perfect turkey and gravy! My mom always hosts our family Thanksgiving and she does the turkey and every year it is perfectly golden. I watch year after year and have taken notes time and time again and it was time to put my knowledge to the test. I was thrilled that my turkey and gravy were a success for my very first Friendsgiving dinner.stress free friendsgiving
stress free friendsgiving

Below I am sharing 5 tips to be a stress free host.

  1. Sign Up For Dishes // I’m not talking about cleaning dishes, after selecting the host and date I made sure everyone picked a dish to bring. It is too much for one person to do all the cooking and having a Friendsgiving should be a joyfull experience. You also don’t want two people to bring the same dish so coordinating is important. I learned not everyone cooks either but there are plenty of sides that can be picked up from the store that are easy to bring like mashed potatoes and rolls.
  2. Layout Place Settings // When I found out I was hosting I made a quick trip to buy placemats and cloth napkins. Is it strange I didn’t own any? I’m more of a casual host but I thought since it’s the holiday season I needed to take my table settings up a notch. I found some that will work all year around and matched my style. I don’t think it’s neccessary to assign seats but that may be helpful if you have a large number of people and are aware of some internal conflict!
  3. Plenty Of Wine // You’d rather have too much wine than not enough. As a host it’s important to make sure you accomodate your guests. Keep an eye on their glasses and off to refill before the glass is empty. Not everyone drinks wine so offer another beverage other than water.
  4. Select An Outfit // I could talk about style and how to dress for a certain occasion all day but I’ll stick to the point here. As a host you are running around making sure everything is perfect, you are the go to person as you know where everything is, plus you are in the hot kitchen lifting a 15 pound bird from here to there. You are going to be hot. I wanted to wear a hat and have my hair down but I knew that was a bad idea, a scarf also a bad idea. Try on your outfit the day before so after the turkey is cooked and the gravy is made and poured into the gravy boat then you can quickly throw on your outfit.
  5. Prep Before // Do as much as you can the day before. The last thing you want to do is answer the door with your robe still on. A few days before the big dinner I bought everything I needed, if I forgot anything I still had a day or 2 to prep. I set the table with placemats, plates, silverwear and glasses as well as the pumpkins from Halloween which were on my front porch I now used as a center piece. I baked a homemade pumpkin pie the day before and I chopped up the onion and celery that needed to be added to the stuffing.

Halloween ‘18 || Girlfriend Style

hocus pocus costume
Halloween style sure has changed for me over the years but it’s only becoming more fun. The one thing that has stayed constant is my love for a theme. Whether I’m dressing for an event or a Halloween party I love a good theme and I love to show up coordinating with my group. When Bluff City Lights decided to get in the Halloween Spirit we started brainstorming costumes that had 4 characters or more. We all loved the idea of dressing up as the beloved movie, Hocus Pocus. Problem was there are only three main characters. This is where we had to get creative. We brought the black cat in. Whenever you dress up as a group it’s fun to get creative and think a little outside the box.

I contemplated spraying my hair red and pinning up my natural curls but the more I thought about it the more work it seemed it would take so I bought the wig. Wigs are such a funny thing, they never quite look like they are advertised on the box but I did learn that they actually photograph quite well. My costume dress was really nice. I’m always leery of store bought costumes because they often times don’t even look like the actual costume so I revert to a DIY. My time to DIY is limited so thank goodness this costume was perfectly detailed.

This makeup was fun to do and it was actually very easy and quite quick. I didn’t know that Winnie didn’t have eyebrowns until I started to google her. I didn’t cover mine up all the way but I did try to lighten them but applying layers of concealer and powder. The lips are the selling point to my costume. I put concealer on the lips first to blend them into my skin then I applied red lipstick to the center of my lips and made sure to smile so only my front teeth showed, giving off my Winnie impression the best I could.

Tomorrow our family is dressing up and we let Myles set the theme. I asked him more times than I can count what he wanted to dress up as and he listed all sorts of things but one thing in particular he mentioned a handful of times. Any guesses what we’ll be dressing up as!?

Happy Halloween!

Bluff City Lights Bakes A Peach Pie

bluff city lights

Some of you may have thought Bluff City Lights no longer exists but we are here! Summers are hard for us since we all travel so much but things are starting to settle down and we are getting the group back together again. A couple of weeks ago we got together at Collins’ Aunt Judy’s house to learn how to make her delicious peach pie.

Let me start by saying I LOVE to bake. Cupcakes are usually my thing and I always bake from scratch. Seeing what’s in my kitchen usually inspires me to add an extra ingredient in here or there. My past favorites cupcakes recipes are Maraschino Cherry Cupcakes and Salted Caramel Mocha Cupcakes (comment below if you want me to post the recipe). Now that I’ve got two little boys to take care of I don’t have the time to bake like I used to. If I do bake I try and make it a healthy option that I feel good about offering to my sons like these Banana Zucchini Muffins or my Whole Wheat Pumpkin Oat Muffins. When BCL decided to get together to bake I jumped at the chance and took it very seriously! This may not be the healthiest recipe but it is one of the yummiest!

basket of peachesBack to the peach pie! A little bit about it before you start baking. It isn’t your traditional pie, it is almost a cross between a cake and a pie, a shortcake actually. The crust is thick and doesn’t need to be rolled out, there is no top crust, the more juice in the peaches the better, and the whole pie is topped with whipped cream!

Aunt Judy’s Peach Pie

What You Need
6-7 ripe peaches, peeled and sliced
1 stick butter
8 oz cream cheese
2 cups sugar
1 1/4 cup self-rising flour
1 pint heavy whipping cream
1 tsp vanilla extract

What You Do
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Start by peeling and slicing your peaches. You want 4-5 cups worth. Add 1 cup of sugar and put them in the refrigerator to chill while you make the crust. I made this pie a second time and added 3/4 cup of sugar and it was plenty sweet.

In a bowl add 1 stick of softened butter, 8 oz of cream cheese, 1/2 cup of sugar, and 1 1/4 cup of self-rising flour. Mix all ingredients with your hands (when I made this a second time I used my Kitchan-Aid with the dough hook then kneaded it into my pan and it worked out perfectly) and knead into a greased pie dish. You will have a thick uneven layer of dough. Bake the pie crust for 28 minutes. Once it is done baking, let it chill for a few hours before adding the peaches. You may want to put it in the refrigerator to speed up the process (wait till the pie pan cools first).

While your pie crust is baking, put your beaters/whisk and bowl in the freezer. You want these to be as cold as possible when making your whipped cream. When you’re ready to finish the pie it’s time to make the whipped cream. Pour 1 pint of heavy whipping cream into your chilled bowl. Beat on medium speed and slowly add 1/2 cup of sugar. As the beaters continue add 1 tsp of vanilla extract. Once peaks form the whipped cream is done. If you need to make the whipped cream ahead of time, wrap cellophane over the whipped cream and store in the fridge to chill (don’t store whipped cream in plastic).

When everything is chilled it is time to put the pie together. Ladle the peaches onto the crust and include all the juices. You may need to poke holes with a fork into the crust to get the juices to settle in. Next, spread the whipped cream on top. Voilà!

CycleBar x Bluff City Lights

Not only did it feel good to hang out with my girls of Bluff City Lights but it felt great to get an amazing workout in at CycleBar in Germantown! I had done one spinning class a few years ago and other than that riding indoors was very foreign to me. I love my Trek bike and cycling through country roads and pretty bike paths. I’m not much of an indoor cardio person so I was hesitant that I would enjoy this class. I will tell you it was not what I expected!
I was warmly greeted by a few energetic cycle instructors, shown where the lockers and shoes are and I even got a complimentary water bottle that you will definitely need at every class. CycleBar is an extremely enthusiastic cardio class. The music is loud, the teacher is moving all about while instructing, class goers are randomly shouting out with excitement and the lights brighten and dim. They say every class is a party and it truly felt like a party, a healthy party!
A first workout class for anyone is confusing no matter what the workout is since you haven’t quite learned the lingo or technique. This experience was no different. They showed me the bike and how to adjust it, they actually fitted me. I was 36 weeks pregnant at the time, my belly was quite large and my knees kept hitting it so we moved the seat here and the handlebars there and everything worked out just right. On each bike you can see how fast you are pedaling and what your resistance is. Those two numbers are very important and the 2 different numbers the instructor shouts out is in reference to those numbers on your bike. You always want to be within the range the instructor gives. I always went to the lower range because I didn’t want to put myself into labor!
Something that was really exciting was this weighted bar we worked with. I saw the bar on my bike but the class was going on and on and I thought maybe the bar was for a different type of class. I was wrong and we got to use it! It is a light weight bar but so efficient! My shoulders were burning so bad from lifting it. That bar put the icing on the cake. The class is an incredible cardio class, I felt like a burned a million calories, your core is engaged the whole time, you sit and stand and your thighs are on fire, then you add this bar to get an upper body workout in. What’s not to love?
The class is an incredible cardio class, I felt like a burned a million calories, your core is engaged the whole time, you sit and stand and your thighs are on fire, then you add this bar to get an upper body workout in. What’s not to love?
Thank you CycleBar Germantown for having us!

The Breakdown:
I love all the crop styles that my BCL girls are rocking, can you imagine if I tried to do that right now?! LOL. Wearing cute and matching workout gear will always help give you that boost to get to the gym and when I’m getting my picture taken that gives me all the more reason to match. I had recently ordered a few things from Nike and I went with all blush colored items so that they would all match! You do sweat a lot in this class so wearing a crop top would absolutely feel freeing! Maybe I’ll give that a try in a few months!

Memphis Grand Carousel x Bluff City Lights + How I Make Sure I Coordinate With The Girls

Maternity style with a flowy skirt
When I found out I was going to be doing a photo shoot on a carousel I was so excited to find the perfect outfit. For some reason I had “ballerina style” in mind for my inspirations. I thought a pleated skirt over my bump would flow nicely, had no idea what top I would find but had velvet mary jane  pumps in my mind for footwear. The problem with having a specific outfit in mind is if you can’t find it, shopping becomes very frustrating. Not only do I have my belly as a huge styling inconvenience but I didn’t know what the other girls were wearing so I had a hard time picturing how we would look together.
Maternity style with a flowy skirt.
I know it’s not necessary for me to over think our “story” and our looks will always go great together because we are expressing out personal style, after all, we are style bloggers. The stylist in me always comes out when I style a shoot for a magazine I think of a story for the model(s) and a theme. When Bluff City Lights does a shoot I get obsessed with how the four of us will look together. I try not to let the girls know but for this shoot I did send them a thousand pictures because I wasn’t feeling myself.
Now, I knew Collins was wearing her red dress, Megan was wearing her gray tulle skirt and Alex was wearing her sequined skirt. I like to pick my outfit out last because I can visualize how we’ll look together. The bad part about picking my outfit last is I obsess a little too much, some may just say I have some OCD tendencies!
Styling my look to coodinate with others.
Dressing up a sequin bomber jacket.
Steps on how I made sure my outfit tied us all in (and my crazy thought process):
-I was on the hunt for a blush flowy skirt. I knew this would fall nicely over my belly, bring in the color of Alex’s skirt and having another mid-length skirt to go along with Megan’s would be perfect.
I didn’t find this skirt until 7pm the night before the shoot. After I fed Myles and got him ready for bed I left him with his dad so I could quickly go to the mall and was soooo lucky to find what I was looking for!
– I tried a lace black turtleneck, a halter black bodysuit (thinking of my ballerina idea) and this white top. Black seemed too harsh for the carousel and the white felt light and right. I had seen these red heels at the mall and thought I needed them to tie in Collins’s dress but they just weren’t going with my outfit. I knew I needed to just dress myself and knowing Collins had a dress instead of separates I knew would be the perfect pop for us. You don’t ever want to look like you are trying to match, coordinating is key.
-The next morning I went through my jewelry and shoes and was ready to go. But my look was missing something. It was missing sequins, I needed to tie in the bling Alex was bringing to the shoot. Thank goodness I had my Gap sequined bomber jacket from 2010. This jacket has become a staple because I find a way to wear it at least once a year!
-I’m not usually this OCD about picking my Bluff City Lights outfit out but my thoughts were quite entertaining and I’m sure you agree! The time I obsessed most over trying to coordinate was for the 2017 ESPY Awards with my husband, the pressure was really on!
Maternity style and coordinating outfits

Riding the 100 year old renovated carousel at The Children’s Museum of Memphis was a really cool experience, I didn’t realize the carousel was so historical. I also hadn’t ridden a carousel since I was a child and it was so much fun! It went pretty fast, we were all laughing the whole time.  We are happy to be able to support the Children’s Museum which has a positive impact on the community and provides hand on learning experiences.
Cirque du CMOM is taking place February 3 at 7pm benefiting the Children’s Museum and Bluff City Lights will be attendance, coordinating or not:) The theme for the evening is “Over The Top, Under The Big Top”, stay tuned for what we’ll be wearing. You can purchase tickets here

The Breakdown:
I talked about breaking down my outfit above with my obsessive coordinating ways! But I actually love the way this turned out. Nothing I’m wearing is maternity. My skirt has an elastic waistband and can be worn below or above my bump, for those not preggo you can wear this skirt at your waistline.

Am I crazy for my way of thinking!?

Bluff City Lights x Eva Salon + A Giveaway!

At the end of 2017 the girls and I of Bluff City Lights were ready to start 2018 with fresh locks. We teamed up with Eva Salon Boutique, located on South Cooper in Memphis, where the owner April took off our split ends, gave us some volume and updated (some of) our color.
Whenever I first sit in the salon chair I feel like hair dresses are always like “what in the world am I going to do with this!?” Since I love to trim my own hair and cut a little here and there, whenever I do show up to a salon for a professional cut I know they have there work cut out for them.
This has to be everyone’s favorite part of getting their hair done. I mean I could have my head massaged and warm water rinsed through my hair all day. It is so relaxing. When I shower at home I try and massage my scalp but it just isn’t the same.
Below are the brand of products that were used on my hair. I had never heard of Davines but it smelled great without being too strong and I love the way my hair felt.

Here is the finished product! Shiny, fresh and bouncy! A couple days later Bluff City Lights tried to meet at the salon while Megan was getting her color touched up and Alex was getting her hair styled. We missed Collins but she did get her hair done and you can see her pictures and read about her experience on her blog Collins Closests.  Make sure to read Alex and Megan’s blog too!
(I was sucking in my 12 week bump here!)
These hair shots are actually how I styled my hair after April cut it. It’s a little different than how she styled it but I love both ways and I couldn’t be happier with how my hair turned out!

April has teamed up with Bluff City Lights to give one of our readers a $200 gift card to her salon, Eva Salon Boutique. With the new year in full swing it’s time to start refreshed! All you have to do is enter your email in the giveaway below and you will be added to our drawing! Good Luck!

Local Memphis Holiday Gift Guide With Bluff City Lights

Earlier this month Bluff City Lights was busy picking out unique items from some of our favorite stores to put together a local gift guide. I have always been a big fan of shopping local and supporting these small business. Around the holidays my favorite stores get even more inventory to choose from.  I found some great stocking stuffers, gifts for your mom, friend or sister!
My top three Memphis picks were Spruce, Indigo and Falling Into Place. Each of these three stores are very different, Spruce is home and accessories, as well as an interior , Indigo has a huge selection of clothing and accessories for all ages and Falling Into Place is a relative new store (two years old) that is home and lifestyle.
First of all, I have too much fun with these girls! Now, I am going to share what items I picked from my three stores.
SPRUCE: a pillow and earrings. This gift is perfect for your mom, aunt or anyone who is interested in interiors. I love collecting pillows and mixing and matching prints. I also chose a pair of Brave earrings. Brave is a local jewelry line that is sold in Spruce.
INDIGO: This has been my clothing store since day one of living in Memphis. They have such a wide variety of styles, I make sure to take all my friends and family here. During the holidays they stock extra gifts perfect for any girl. If I am going to give more than one item as a gift I love for it to be a theme. From Indigo I went the evening/bedtime route. First pick was this bath sponge which I had never seen, you can use it up to 15 washes! It smells amazing and leave a little coat of shimmer on your body. They also have smaller sponges that last 5 washes, have no shimmer but smell just as good! I chose this extremely soft plaid Bella Dahl nightgown which comes in separates as well and my all time favorite, Hanky Panky. Indigo always carries Hanky Panky underwear and since its the holidays they are selling this cute box of three. The reason I love these so much is because even though they are lace they are the most comfortable and are one size fits all, you can never have too much underwear and this is a gift any girl would be happy to get!
FALLING INTO PLACE: This store is so unique. It is filled with local gifts. I chose their signature candle because they are actually made by the store owner in the store. As a bonus, a portion of proceeds from each candle sold go to the International Child Art Foundation. I also picked out this beautiful Memphis art my local designer Whitney Winkler. The blue colors are very Memphis and there a bits of metallic accents which is very me! I plan on getting my pieces framed for my sons room.
Make sure to visit the rest of our blogs for more details on our local gift guide. You can read Megan’s post here, she broke down all the stores by neighborhood.

My Style

We now have a website!

I am happy to announce Bluff City Lights now has its own website! Visit to read about who we are, why we started this blogging group and to enter our giveaways. We had each been posting the giveaways in our individual posts but now you will only need to go to one location! Our individual Bluff City Lights posts will be on our website as well but don’t forget to check our daily blogs for everyday posts! We have a few things to update on the site but I am excited to share some of the pictures from our website shoot.
These pictures are from our website shoot with Lindsey Lissau
I am so excited to wear this dress this summer! It’s very comfortable and versatile. The waistband can be high or low (you can see the model here wore it very differently than me) and the dress looks great with flats or heels! I have quite a few showers, baby and wedding, to attend this summer and this dress will be sure to make an appearance or two!
I’d love to hear what you guys think our style is. I know we all dress very differently and I think I have figured out most of our styles. But I would love to know how you categorize our style! Comment below and don’t forget to follow along on our blogs!
The Breakdown:
I was on the hunt for something “very me” to wear for our website shoot. Of course we will be using pictures from all of our past shoots but we wanted some with a clean background in order to showcase who we are as a group and individuals. I love how free this dress feels. I love loose and flowy dresses but since that is all I wore last summer while I was pregnant I feel wierd wearing them now. The fact that this dress is loose but has a band that shows I am not pregnant is wonderful. A nude shoe that matches your skin tone is always a good option, it really is a no fail choice and is sure to elongate your legs. I recently wore these heels to MFW which you can read in this post. A giant cuff is always an easy accessory. I love stacking a lot of little things but when I am short on time one large accessory is all I need.

DermaSweep With De La Belle Wellness Spa

Just like every girl, I love a good spa day. My spa experiences have always been quite basic, I’ll get a regular facial or massage a couple times a year. There are so many different types of treatments out there that I have never heard of, one being DermaSweep. DermaSweep is a facial that provides deep exfoliation and product penetration and is offered at De La Belle Wellness and Spa where I got to experience this service for myself. Make sure you visit the other Bluff City Lights blog posts soon to read about their De La Belle treatment. We all got something different so you’ll definitely want to read what they had to say. You can read Megan’s post on botox (eek!) here!

I sat down for my consultation with Robin to discuss my skin type and go over any questions I had. I had quite a few question because I wasn’t familiar with this procedure. I learned that Robin would be using a Dermasweep wand to gently lift the skin while removing the topmost layer of dead skin cells (she even showed me the dead skin cells after!). The vacuum suction stimulates blood flow to the epidermis, encouraging collagen formation while firming and toning. Unlike traditional microdermabrasion, DermaSweep helps improve micro-circulation and oxygenation to promote skin health and boost collagen, along with effective exfoliation.
After I undressed, I hopped into a warm bed with the softest sheets to relax. There was a mist machine near my face to help open up my pores .
After a few minutes Robin came in to get started. There are three levels of treatment during the facial: Exfoliation, circulation and infusion. You can read more details from the De La Belle website. Robin had mentioned I could possibly develop some bruising from the suction. Since I have (or at least I thought I had) sensitive skin I was sure I would have bruising and that there was no way I could go out in public after my treatment. You can see in the below picture, my before and after, there was a little bit of redness but nothing extreme and I never developed any bruising.
During the facial the suction felt really strong but it also felt like a nail file on my face. It is odd to explain but it didn’t hurt at all, just pressure and some roughness. The remaining part of the facial was so relaxing I actually fell asleep at the end!
(before)                                                (after)
I met Robin at checkout after my facial where she went over skincare directions. For the next 10 days I was to use samples she provided to cleanse and moisturize my face. I was given four different Image Skincare samples with an AM and PM routine.

I washed my face morning and evening with The Max Stem Cell Facial cleanser then applied Iluma Intense Lightening Serum. During the day I applied Prevention tinted daily moisturizer with spf 30. I really loved this tinted moisturizer, it had good coverage while still being a light formula. In the evening after washing my face and applying the serum I used Ormedic Biopeptide Cream.

After my facial I was able to go about my day like normal. A couple days after my facial I did get a few pimples which I was warned about. It felt good knowing my pores were very very clean and impurities were brought to the surface!
I’m looking forward to setting up my next DermaSweep facial at De La Belle Spa.
De La Belle has specials starting today, June 15th, for their Anniversary sale! Check them out below.

Bluff City Lights x Caramelized Supper Club + A Giveaway!

Some of you may know about the Caramelized Supper Club and lucky you if you are already a member of the club! I have been a fan of Cara Greenstein of the food blog, Caramelized, for quite some time. So when she contacted me to work with Bluff City Lights I was so excited. We sat down for coffee at a mutual favorite (City and State) and chatted about puppies, weddings, food, fashion and how we could collaborate together.
It was only right that Bluff City Lights was able to experience Caramelized Supper Club because after all, it is a dinner party in a box and is for four people, perfect for us. If you enjoy entertaining or better yet, want to entertain but need a little help, this subscription is perfect for you! No need to be intimidated, the box offers the tools and steps to hosting the perfect dinner party.
These pizzas were to die for! To be honest I would never order a pizza like this because I am hesitant to try new foods. I sure am happy I bit into this pizza. It was topped (well, what I think it was topped with. I am really terrible at picking out flavors in things) with grilled onion and peaches, pesto, and a cheese I had never heard of but I like it. I am not a cheese person either but this was really light and soft and extremely scrumptious.

The Breakdown:
I love any excuse to dress up but having girlfriends over is one of my favorite excuses. Hanging with Bluff City Lights and enjoying our Caramelized Supper Club on a perfect summer evening made me feel very happy inside. I wore this Victoria Beckham for Target romper which is no longer available. I love the scalloped edge and the bright bold color is perfect for summer.
