My Favorite Denim Brand

alice and olivia lavender jacket
My choice of denim has changed over the years. I love my boyfriend jeans, I love my distressed jean but nothing beats a soft pair of skinny jeans that are stretchy but still hold you in. Denim trends change so quickly, I have been cutting and distressing the hems of most of my jeans but these ones I am wearing are here to stay just as they are.

The brand of denim I prefer has changed over the years also. 7 For All Mankind and True Religion were my go to’s in high school (if I could find them on sale at TJ Maxx or Gabriel Brother’s) along with Express. In college I started to wear Joe’s Jeans and Citizens of Humanity and after college I got obsessed with Frame and Mother. I still love all of the brands above but my current favorite or l’Agence. I only have 2 pair of this brand, this plain skinny pair I am wearing (also in this post) and a distressed pair that I’ve worn a million times (here, here, here and here just to share a few! Those jeans are the ones that inspired me to write this post.).  favorite denim l'agencealice and olivia lavender jacketgorjana earringsalice and olivia lavender jacketstriped turtleneckalice and olivia lavender jacketalice and olivia lavender jacket

The Breakdown:
Kitten heels! I don’t wear these often but they really are more practical but honesty not as easy to walk in as you would think. I’m assuming it is because the heel is so low I feel like there should be a heel but there isn’t so I have to be careful. I love details on this top. I didn’t realize until I got the shirt that the tie at the chest can come undone and can be tied however you like. This lavender blazer I got last year and wore it a few times. I had tried to wear it this fall but couldn’t seem to put it with the right outfit. Now that we are in winter and spring is up next it seemed appropriate to wear this pretty shade of purple.

Cooling Off In Gingham

gingham print topI wasn’t much of a fan of the gingham print trend. It reminded me a little too much of tablecloth or a picnic spread. Now that this trend comes in so many styles I have actually found a few shirts that I really love, including this top I’m wearing. Aren’t the little poms on the sleeves darling? Another great thing about gingam is that the fabric is really light weight, which is exactly what we need in the middle of summer. gingham print top

The Breakdown:

I’m still struggling to style my new body. My go to outifts are shirts that stretch or are loose. Having to nurse every 2-3 hours doesn’t give me much freedom with how I dress, I need access to my breast pretty much at all times. My favorite thing about this outfit is that I am not sacrificing style for motherhood. Once again I’m wearing my favorite mules, I try to pick other shoes but I always end up choosing these white ones which I’ve probably worn too many times (here and here). These mules are also 40% off right now and are the best, I wore them throughout my pregnancy during long work days and never had any issues! I’m still a little iffy about this gingam top. How do you guys feel about gingam?
