My Favorite Denim Brand

My choice of denim has changed over the years. I love my boyfriend jeans, I love my distressed jean but nothing beats a soft pair of skinny jeans that are stretchy but still hold you in. Denim trends change so quickly, I have been cutting and distressing the hems of most of my jeans but these ones I am wearing are here to stay just as they are.

The brand of denim I prefer has changed over the years also. 7 For All Mankind and True Religion were my go to’s in high school (if I could find them on sale at TJ Maxx or Gabriel Brother’s) along with Express. In college I started to wear Joe’s Jeans and Citizens of Humanity and after college I got obsessed with Frame and Mother. I still love all of the brands above but my current favorite or l’Agence. I only have 2 pair of this brand, this plain skinny pair I am wearing (also in this post) and a distressed pair that I’ve worn a million times (here, here, here and here just to share a few! Those jeans are the ones that inspired me to write this post.).  favorite denim l'agencealice and olivia lavender jacketgorjana earringsalice and olivia lavender jacketstriped turtleneckalice and olivia lavender jacketalice and olivia lavender jacket

The Breakdown:
Kitten heels! I don’t wear these often but they really are more practical but honesty not as easy to walk in as you would think. I’m assuming it is because the heel is so low I feel like there should be a heel but there isn’t so I have to be careful. I love details on this top. I didn’t realize until I got the shirt that the tie at the chest can come undone and can be tied however you like. This lavender blazer I got last year and wore it a few times. I had tried to wear it this fall but couldn’t seem to put it with the right outfit. Now that we are in winter and spring is up next it seemed appropriate to wear this pretty shade of purple.

Current Favorite Trend || Mock Turtleneck

mock turtleneck
The color of this sweater sold me and the fact that it was under $100. Once the sweater arrived and I tried it on I realized I loved the sleeves and the mock neck. I love turtlenecks but sometimes they fold weird or are too bulky and I get too hot and feel too restricted. A mock turtleneck is just right and that’s what I have my eye on now for this winter. I picked out a few other super cute ones below.

I’ll be wearing my favorite current trend, the mock turtleneck, to the Grizzlies game tonight.  I wouldn’t typically wear heels during the week but these are so comfortable I’m going for it! Black can also be tricky with kids, almost worse than white. Every little spit up, snot or smear shows up. The Breakdown:
This whole outfit is surprisingly comfortable. A huge plus to wearing straight leg or wide leg jeans is how much more comfortable they are then skinny jeans, this pair in particular feel like sweatpants, so loose and soft. The booties I am wearing are sock booties and therefore also really comfortable. The fabric is stretchy, it’s almost like wearing a tennis shoe on a heel, haha. My lip color was borrowed from my photographer Kim, I felt like I needed a little color on my lips and I only had chapstick with me. Kim to the rescue! Lastly to be mentioned is my mock turtleneck. I love the color, the detailed sleeves, the softness, and the price point!
